The vehicle-specific CANchecked MFD28 Gen2 for your Honda Civic FK2 – perfectly integrated and all data always in view

The MFD28 Gen2 transforms your air vent into an intelligent display with features you don't want to miss. Our displays are designed so that they can be installed by anyone. For most displays there are illustrated installation instructions, so you can install your display yourself without the need of any workshop.

Key Features
  • Perfect integration: Vehicle-specific bezel still allows airflow past the display
  • CAN Bus: Readout of in-depth vehicle data similar to manufacturer diagnostic tools
  • Gear display: Via CAN Bus or calculated from speed and RPM
  • Touchscreen: Navigate pages using intuitive swipe gestures
  • Customization: Design your own pages, add images or startup animations
  • Additional inputs: Connect up to 4 analog inputs and an ethanol sensor
  • CAN Switching: Use the display as a keypad and send custom CAN messages
  • Customizable alarms: Configurable warnings (e.g. EGT above 900°C)
  • Logging: Log and save data to the internal SD card
  • Performance Meter: Measure 0–100, 100–200 and 0–200 acceleration times
  • DTC*: Read and clear fault codes from ECU, transmission, ABS and AWD
  • Dimming*: Automatic brightness adjustment with the instrument panel
Different views

Configure your own pages or choose from predefined views:

  • Predefined sample pages included
  • Creation of custom pages supported and encouraged
  • Up to ten pages configurable
  • 20 widget types (sensor value, analogue pointer, YT diagram, speed bar, round display, vertical/horizontal bars)
  • Widgets scalable and freely positionable via drag & drop
  • Fully adjustable widget colors
  • Up to 64 widgets per page
Display Setup Software – DSS

With the CANchecked DSS you can fully customize your display. The integrated log viewer allows downloading and viewing log files. A CAN logger is also included.

The core of the DSS is the TRI Editor, which enables sensor configuration for both CAN Bus and internal sensors, including warning thresholds and custom sensor naming.

Supported values

One of the most common questions is: Which values can I get from my ECU? The answer: ALL.

We have reverse-engineered data for many engines and offer in-depth data access. The display supports CAN Bus queries (UDS, TP2, manufacturer-specific protocols) as well as K-Line (ISO 9141).

The display is delivered with predefined TRI/TRX files that define all queried sensors. These vary depending on the engine. Below is an extract of supported values:

Temperatures:

  • Exhaust temperature, coolant temperature, oil temperature, intake temperature, outside temperature, gasoline temperature, DSG temperature

Pressures:

  • Boost pressure, ambient pressure, fuel pressure pre-feed pump, rail pressure actual/target

Lambda / Mixture:

  • Lambda value, injection time, short-term lambda adjustment, long-term lambda adjustment

Other values:

  • RPM, air mass, vehicle speed, throttle angle, total ignition angle, ignition angle retraction per cylinder, N75 duty cycle, terminal 30 voltage, torque, gear, diesel-specific values

If required values are missing, they can be added later.

Scope of delivery

Included with every delivery:

  • MFD28 Gen2 data display integrated into the ventilation insert (LHD vehicles)
  • Vehicle-specific connection cable
  • Quickstart Guide
  • USB data cable
  • SD card (pre-installed)
  • SD card adapter
  • Display foil to reduce reflections
Connection and extension

Up to four analog sensors can be connected. Both linear 0–5V and NTC sensors are supported.

CANchecked in-house sensors are preconfigured in the TRI/TRX files and only need to be connected:

  • AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
  • AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature transducer (TCC01)
  • AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar (FLP01)
  • AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (BST10)

A pre-assembled AIN wiring harness can be used for easy installation.

An external shift light with eight LEDs can also be connected. Colors and RPM thresholds are configurable directly on the display.

The ethanol sensor connects directly to the display. A 10K pull-up resistor between 5V and signal is required. Ethanol content and temperature can then be displayed and logged.

Advanced functions

Math Channels allow sensor values to be calculated from other sensors. The User Table enables creation of additional sensors using 2D or 3D maps.
