This exhaust system was developed in the 5ZIGEN factory (Japan) especially for the European market. The 5ZIGEN Pro Racer for Impreza GVF offers an optimized flow and rich, sporty sound packed in a legal exhaust system.
The workmanship of the exhaust system is first-class and of the highest quality, as you would expect from Japanese exhaust systems.
Note regarding pipe diameter:
Many customers have asked why the 5ZIGEN Pro Racer does not use a 3" pipe diameter, as other manufacturers do. The explanation is simple --> PERFORMANCE!
A larger diameter does not always result in better power delivery, even with turbo engines. Although we also use a larger diameter in the GRB/GRF model than in the GVB/GVF, this is only for good reason!
The GVB/GVF model does not have the same chassis or is longer! The power development over the speed range is not identical.
GRF: Highest power development in the upper speed range
GVF: High torque already from low to medium revs
Consequently, the correct improvement of an exhaust system for the GVF consists of the following 2 main criteria:
No loss of torque up to the medium engine speed range
Increased power delivery in the upper rev range
This is exactly the case with the 5ZIGEN Pro Racer!
The use of a 3" pipe after the catalytic converter would worsen the turbo "spool-up", in short cause a larger turbo lag and this is exactly the result we have seen with exhaust systems from other manufacturers.
This type of tuning is frowned upon by the majority of Impreza drivers: "The vehicle sounds louder, but the performance is worse"!
